Gigel Beles is a village in the North West of Ethiopia in a region called "Benishangul Gumuz". This is me, Mark Sidey, a VSO volunteer, standing beside the sign at the south end of the village. It says: "Welcome to Gilgel Beles village." This site is a photographic tour of the village, college and my house.

If you have a slow connection, I strongly advise copying the entire site to Harddisc and running it from there to allow smooth navigation around the village. Also, a screen size of at least 1024 x 768 with 32bit colour (millions) is essential. If running at 1024 x 768, I suggest pressing 'F11' for full-screen display with header bar off (it will only just fit.) Press 'F11' again to return when you have finished.
Please report any spelling or typo errors, or links that fail to move you to the correct place to VGB Errors. When you report an error, please include the html page number (see in the address bar. It will be a 4 digit number near the end.)
All the content of this site (photos, graphics, html, map) was created by Mark Sidey in Nov 2008.
